IMPORTANT PARKING DETAILS FOR TAG DAY TOMORROW
Vehicular Restrictions at CFRB Dow’s Lake on Tag Day (12 April)
As a result of an all-day naval training programme at HMCS Carleton, and a Bonspiel at the RCN Curling Club, there will be no vehicular access to the parking lot at Canadian Forces Reserve Barracks Dow’s Lake tomorrow, (Tag Day).
However, the Navy League has successfully negotiated an arrangement with the management of the Dow’s Lake Pavilion wherein volunteer driver-escorts may park for free in the lot directly across from the entrance to CFB Dow’s Lake/HMCS Carleton. Please note that this is only for volunteer driver-escorts. To do so, without having to pay, there will be a letter given when you register for TAG DAY so that on on exiting, simply show the ticket you take on entering to the attendant, along with the letter, who will waive the fees.
Finally, when choosing a parking spot, please ensure to use the back side on the left furthest from the Dow’s Lake Pavillion (ie., closer to Carling Avenue) in order to leave the closer spots free for the lot's paying customers. (This is one of our conditions of use asked of us by the managers of the Pavilion)
Parents/Guardians who are simply dropping-off cadets, (c. 8AM) and picking them up (c.3-4PM) must do so in the round-about between CFRB Dow’s Lake and the Dow’s lake Pavilion.
Parents/Guardians are reminded to please ensure they and cadets only use the crosswalk to get to/from the base to/from the parking lot with cadets. Cars come at high speed down the hill on Prince of Wales.
